Because you aren’t alone in your uncertainty…

  • The first session is an opportunity for you to meet face-to-face with your therapist (whether in office or via your computer!). At this time, your therapist will provide a comprehensive assessment, which will take into account your personal history, present-day concerns, and what you might be hoping for in the therapeutic process. If you have specific goals for therapy and/or beyond, you can talk about those, too. Our approach to therapy is very collaborative so together, you’ll address any concerns or questions you have regarding therapy and come up with a plan to work toward your goals. If you both agree to continue working together, therapy will begin during the following session.

  • Depending on your needs and goals, we can determine together how long would be most helpful and beneficial to you. We never want to rush the process, but also do not want you to be in therapy longer than needed. We always say that our goal is to put ourselves out of a job, however long that takes!

  • We use an eclectic approach to marriage therapy, as we do with all types of therapy! This means that see the value in lots of different modalities, techniques, and theories - people (and relationships!) are complex and therapy is never a one-size-fits-all kind of situation. However we often utilize the principles of both Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method in our work with couples. We find that these two approaches offer a way to honor the way God designed men and women to love one another, to need one another (in a good way!), and to complement one another in the best ways possible. We will focus not on symptoms and crises, but on the root causes of why you are missing one another and what you can do to create (or restore) deeper connection, safe vulnerability, and a love and commitment that truly reflects Christ’s relationship with the church.

  • We believe that God is the ultimate Healer and is sovereign over all creation. Because He has designed humans as physical, emotional, and spiritual beings, we also believe that these three areas are deeply connected and must be addressed in tandem when it comes to healing and joyful living. Through God-given psychological principles and evidence-based strategies, psychology can be a part of helping people become the healthiest version of who God created them to be. Thus, when it comes to healing and restoration of the mind, body and soul, we believe that spiritual discipleship and mental health interventions often go hand in hand - in a beautiful and God-honoring way!

  • Therapy is hard work and it often depletes us of our energy - mentally and physically. Often therapy can bring up painful memories that leave us feeling raw and mentally scattered. This is normal, but can often feel very confusing and distressing. The best thing you can do is to be honest with your therapist about what you are thinking and feeling so that you can process the difficult emotions and memories together, find a place for them in your story, and move toward growth and healing.

  • It is normal to make initial progress, and even to feel better after your first session or two of therapy. Therapy often feels good because you are sharing your burdens and starting to make sense of your distress. Sometimes it just feels good to share your story with an unbiased individual with no fear of judgment and no pressure to say the “right” things. But because people are complex and relationships are dynamic, it is inevitable that you will experience obstacles to progress, roadblocks to the personal growth you so want to achieve. When you get stuck in the “weeds” of past trauma, painful memories, and personal difficulties, it’s easy to get discouraged. However it is normal to experience the concept of “3 steps forward, 2 steps back” during the process of therapy. Progress is sometimes quick and sometimes painstakingly slow, but we truly believe that your journey is unique and that your hard work is not in vain.

  • We currently have two physical locations - in Greensboro, NC and Cary, NC, where we see clients for in-person services. However most of our therapy work is online via our telehealth services, which allow us to work with clients all over North Carolina.

  • Dwell Ministry is in network with Aetna.

    Some providers are also paneled with other insurance companies—please reach out for more information on a particular clinician.

    If your clinic an is out-of-netwook with your insurance company or you do not wish to use your insurance benefits, we provide clients with Superbills upon request that can be used for out-of-network reimbursement. The reimbursement amount will depend on your particular insurance plan. Below are the most commonly used billing codes should you wish to check with your insurance company regarding how much reimbursement you can expect from services.

  • 15 minute phone consultation: Free

    50 minute therapy: $140 for an associate licensed clinician (LCMHCA, LMFTA, LCSWA); $150 for a fully licensed clinician (LCMHC, LMFT, LCSW)

  • We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, as well as FSA and HSA cards.

  • This Good Faith Estimate (GFE) shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created, and does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. The fee for a traditional 50-minute psychotherapy session (in-person or via telehealth) is $140. Most clients will attend one psychotherapy visit per week, but the frequency of psychotherapy visits that are appropriate in your case may be more or less than once per week or more than once per week, depending upon your individual needs and preference. It is also important, when determining your total estimate, to take into consideration vacations, holidays, emergencies, and sick time.

    You may project any potential future cost(s) by multiplying the session fee of $140 by the total number of sessions. This will result in your total estimated cost for mental health service(s).

    If you attend therapy for a longer period, your total estimated charges will increase according to the number of visits and length of treatment.

    We will provide you with a GFE based on the information the therapist has available at this time and actual items, services, or charges may differ from this good faith estimate as treatment progresses. Please note that these fees are the same for both in-office services and for telehealth services.

    Total Expected Charges from Dwell Ministry could be determined as follows:

    1 week of service (50 minute session): $140

    Approximately 6 months of service with weekly therapy sessions(50 minute sessions at $140 per session): $3640

    Additional fees that may apply:

    Cancellation fee: $140 per cancelled session

    The standard recommendation for Dwell Ministry, PC is 15 sessions (weekly or bi-weekly), unless otherwise discussed with your therapist. The recommendation and treatment plan will also be reevaluated regularly to meet the needs of the client and to determine whether more or fewer sessions are needed.

    If you are billed for more than this GFE, you have the right to dispute the bill. Throughout your treatment, the provider may recommend additional items or services as part of your treatment that are not reflected in this estimate. These would need to be scheduled separately with your consent and the understanding that any additional service costs are in addition to the GFE.

    If your needs change during treatment, your provider should supply a new, updated Good Faith Estimate to reflect the changes to treatment, and the accompanying cost changes. Your therapist will revisit your GFE every 6 months.

    You may contact the health care provider or facility listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the GFE. You can ask them to update the bill to match the GFE, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.

    The GFE is not a contract between provider and client and does not obligate or require the client to obtain any of the listed services from the provider.

    You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill.

    There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.

    Keep a copy of this Good Faith Estimate in a safe place or take pictures of it. You may need it if you are billed a higher amount.

    Dwell Ministry recognizes that every client’s therapy journey is unique. How long you need to engage in therapy and how often you attend sessions will be influenced by many factors including:

    Your schedule and life circumstances

    Therapist availability

    Ongoing life challenges

    The nature of your specific challenges and how you address them

    Personal finances and resources

    You and your therapist will continually assess the appropriate frequency of therapy and will work together to determine when you have met your goals and are ready for discharge and/ or a new “Good Faith Estimate” will be issued should the frequency of session(s) or needs change. You may request a new GFE at any time in writing during your treatment.

    *Please note that the Good Faith Estimate applies only to clients who either do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance.
